FILM INDUSTRY DIVISION
Visa, work-authorization and documentation management for cast, crew and technical teams, on shooting schedules that cannot move.
WHAT WE DO
DOCSUPPORT manages travel documentation for film, television and commercial productions. We establish whether each destination requires work authorization as well as a visa, prepare and submit every file for cast and crew, and confirm the unit is cleared to travel and to work before the first day of photography.
Productions do not fail because somebody forgot a form. They fail because the wrong assumption was made early, and nobody tested it until the crew was at the airport. We test it first.
A two-person documentary unit or a feature crew of eighty across three countries, the standard never changes: accurate, precise, on time. Production service companies can also engage us behind their own brand.
WHY IT MATTERS
A unit of thirty flies to a three-week shoot. The director of photography holds a passport that needs a visa the rest of the crew does not. Two cast members are replaced ten days out. The location requires work authorization even though most of the crew could enter without a visa at all.
Every lost day is crew, kit, locations and talent paid for and not used. Documentation is the cheapest part of a production to get right, and the most expensive to get wrong.
Visa-free entry is not permission to work.
WHO WE SERVE
From a single content shoot to a feature unit crossing three borders, the legal requirements are the same.
Feature · Television · Streaming
Cast and crew moving between countries on schedules fixed months in advance.
Local fixers · Production services
The people responsible for making a foreign unit legal on the ground, supported by a specialist back office.
Brand shoots · Campaigns
Short, intense schedules where one delayed crew member changes the entire call sheet.
Stills · Digital · Social
Smaller units on fast turnarounds, carrying exactly the same legal requirements as a feature.
Field teams · Multi-country
Small teams crossing several borders, often at short notice and in difficult jurisdictions.
In-house production · Coproductions
Compliance-sensitive productions where the paperwork has to stand up to audit.
CAPABILITIES
We determine, per country and per role, whether your people need permission to work as well as permission to enter.
ESTA, eTA, the UK ETA and ETIAS for the travelling unit, each one verified before submission.
Applications for the whole unit across mixed nationalities, coordinated to the start of the shooting period.
Substitutions and additions handled at short notice, mid-schedule, without unpicking the files already approved.
Checked against every destination on the schedule, with renewals arranged around shoot dates.
Shoots that move across borders, with each leg assessed separately and sequenced so no leg blocks another.
EXPERTISE
Much of your crew can enter the destination without a visa. That does not mean they may legally work there. A number of countries that welcome visitors visa-free still require a permit before a camera is switched on for a commercial production, and enforcement at the border has become noticeably firmer.
We answer that question first, per country and per role, so nobody discovers the difference at immigration with a shooting day already booked.
WE ASSESS EVERY ROLE ON THE CALL SHEET
THE PROCESS
01
We set up a dedicated environment for your production. Send the crew list in one file, or invite cast and crew to a branded page with your production logo. Every form is tailored, with no unnecessary fields.
02
The production covers all fees, individuals pay their own, or selected cast and heads of department receive the service complimentary. You set the policy.
03
Forms, embassy appointments, e-authorizations, supporting letters and follow-through, at up to 300 applications a day. We chase missing documents so your production coordinator does not.
04
One confirmation that the unit can travel and work, then continuous monitoring of compliance and expiry for the length of the schedule.
FAQ
Often, yes. Entry and permission to work are two separate questions, and several visa-free countries require a work permit or a specific visa for paid production activity. We confirm the position per country and per role before you travel, in writing.
Yes. Each leg is assessed separately and applications are sequenced so that passports are physically available when they are needed and no leg blocks another.
Tell us as soon as the name is confirmed. We give you a realistic timeline the same day and start immediately where the schedule requires it.
Our specialism is documentation for people. Equipment normally moves under customs procedures such as an ATA Carnet, arranged by your customs broker or production service company. We make sure the crew accompanying that equipment is legally cleared to travel and to work.
Yes. We can operate entirely behind your brand, so cast and crew only ever deal with your production office. See how the white-label partnership works.
